He was married to Grace STAPLOE -i.Thomas COX I-i and Grace STAPLOE -i had the following children:

2.Thomas COX II-i was born on February 20, 1697 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, England.He was living about 1741 in Core Sound, Catered Co., NC.The year that Mary Chandler Cox died, her oldest daughter (Mary), married and stayed in Pa. while Thomas and the rest of the family emigrated to Core Sound, Catered Co., NC.They moved to the south side of the Nuese River some ninety miles from Core Sound in Johnston Co., NC where Thomas Cox had secured a land grant. The name of the area was later changed to Dobbbs Co., and after the American Revolution, to Wayne Co., NCHe died on November 20, 1768 in Johnson Co., N C.He was in Londongrove MM.He was.Notes for THOMAS COX:
Thomas's parents are unknown. Many believe that he was the son of Thomas and Grace [Staploe] Cox; yet no records have been found that provides proof that he was their son, also named Thomas Cox, b.1698.
Thomas immigrated to America in 1714 from Tetbury, Gloucestershire, England. Thomas was a member of Friends at Nailsworth MH in Tetbury. He received a certificate of recommendation to other meetings as a member of good standing, dated February 11, 1713. His decision to emigrate may had been quite sudden since according to Nailsworth (alt. spelling: Naylsworth) MM, March 11, 1714, it was reported that Thomas (and several others who immigrated at the same time), could not wait for the required month as was usual when certificates of removal were granted. Daniel Evans, (he and his family immigrated with Thomas), settled in Concord Township and was received into membership at Concord MM, Chester Co., PA, in July 1714. Thomas however, did not present his certificate to Concord MM until December 13, 1714.
He was married to Sarah BUZBY -C (daughter of Richard** BUZBY -C (6GP)and Hannah** FRENCH -C (6GP) ) on September 26, 1716 in Conconrd MM, Chester Co, Pa..Marriage Notes for THOMAS COX and SARAH BUZBY:
At the Monthly Meeting held at Concord Meeting House the 10th day of the 7th month (September) 1716, Thomas Cox declares his intention of marriage with Richard Buzby's (Busby) daughter, Sarah (who was a member of the Abington MM) and desired a Certificate. Benjamin Mendenhall and Henry Obren are appointed to make inquery into his clearness in relation to marriage and if nothing be found to obstruct his proceeding they are to draw up a certificate for him and bring it to the next meeting for its aprobation. Thomas and Mary were found clear and they were married at the Abington Meeting House in October 1716. Their marriage was reported at the Abington Monthly Meeting , 26th of the 9th month (November), 1716.
(A Mary Chandler has been thought to be one of Thomas's wives (supposedly marrying in 1712, and having a son Thomas born in 1728/29) The Thomas born in 1728/29 was the son of Thomas and Sarah Buzby, not Thomas and Mary Chandler. Mary Chandler was married to a different Thomas Cox, resident of Philadelphia, PA, son of Abraham and Sarah (Wolfe) Cox).
Sarah BUZBY -C was born about 1698 in Phila. Chester Co, Pa..She died after 1737 in Chester Co, Pa..Notes for SARAH BUZBY:
Sarah died sometime between October 1740 and the spring of 1741. According to meeting records, Sarah's name was listed as one of the witnesses of the Wilson-Obsborn wedding which took place in October 1740. She's not mentioned however, in her father's will, which was written in August 1743, and she wasn't mentioned in the minutes after Thomas moved his family to NC in the spring of 1741.Thomas COX II-i and Sarah BUZBY -C had the following children:

She was married to James HAYES -i on August 30, 1736 in out of meeting.
4.Hannah COX -C was born on September 26, 1721 in Chester Co, Pa..She died Ocotber 30, 1790 in Wayne Co., NC.
She was married to James MUSGRAVE -i (son of John MUSGRAVE -iand Mary HASTINGS -i) on July 13, 1739 in Publick Meeting, Chester, Pa..Per Shartle p. 66 to NC 1759 page 119 of New Garden MM: 'James Musgrave, s/o John Musgrave of Sadbury in ye County of Lancaster & Province of Pensilvenia & Hannah Cox, Daughter of Thomas Cox, belonging to Londongrove Meeting in Chester Co. & Province aforesd...12, 4m 1739...at their Puglic Meeting House in Londongrove...'James MUSGRAVE -i was born about 1700 in Chester, Pa..He died after 1790 in Wayne, NC.
5.Richard COX I-C was born on October 15, 1723 in Chester Co, Pa..He died on October 30, 1784 in Wayne Co., NC.
He was married to Elizabeth APPLEWHITE -i about 1750.

She was married to John KENNEDY -i on November 6, 1769.
9.Elizabeth COX -C was born on March 2, 1736/37 in Chester Co, Pa..She died on October 23, 1790 in Wayne Co., NC.
She was married to Caleb MUSGRAVE -i (son of John MUSGRAVE -iand Christina Leonard LINDERD -i ).Caleb MUSGRAVE -i was born in 1728.He died about 1791 in Wayne Co., NC.
