So sorry to hear of your illness. Hope this finds you improved!
You certainly look like you have done your share of
helping the rest of us find our heritage also!
I was searching for info on the book by Allen R. Beiler
and happened onto this website, which proved very helpful.
My Jacob Byler Jr 10 Jun 1765 Berks, PA - 19 Mar 1846 MO.
wife; Bathsheba Oxford 4 Nov 1774 Burke NC-13 Jan 1836 Jamestown, Cooper, MO
Parents; Jacob Byler 1740 PA - ? Buncombe, NC
wife Katie 1740 PA - 1830 MO
They are 5th and 6th great grandparents of mine...
I have not been able to connect with any of the lines
that are in AR of which is my homestate. But my line
goes from PA to NC to MO.
My line continues from Jacob Jr. and Bathsheba Byler's
daughter; Anna 16 Jun 1804 Buncombe NC - 3 Jul 1882 California, Moniteau county, MO. She married Alfred Norman
who was murdered by one of his slaves documented in the
history of California, Missouri. A daughter of theirs,
Elizabeth Elvira Norman married Benjamin Franklin McCollester who was born in VT. They lived their lives in
MO and one of their sonswas the father of my grandfather
who married in Moniteau county, MO and raised a family of 5 with his wife and then in the 1940s moved down to Arkansas and most of his children followed. My grandparents are buried in the community in which I have lived most of my life. It is a wonderful visit to go back
to California,MO and be able to find so many generations of family names on the tombstones. The Byler generations
must have been living in that area since 1830 something,
with the 90 year old Katie Byler dying there. My last direct link died in 1945, but only a descendant, and not bearing the Byler name, only the wonderful heritage.
