I am still trying to sort this out, but I believe your data is a combination of at least two separate Ephraim Woodruffs. According to the DAR, the Ephraim that married Mary Byram died in New Jersey, not Pennsylvania, and his dates are 1748-1810. This DAR woman was a great granddaughter still living in the same area, so she should be a good source.
DAR: "MISS LAURA H. WOODRUFF. 56476
Born in Sussex, N. J.
Descendant of Lieut. Ephraim Woodruff, of New Jersey.
Daughter of Noah Talmadge Woodruff and Phoebe A. Hopkins, his wife.
Granddaughter of Job B. Woodruff and Sarah Talmadge, his wife.
Gr-granddaughter of Ephraim Woodruff and Mary Byram, his wife.
Ephraim Woodruff (1748-1810) enlisted at Woodbridge as a private, 1777, in Capt. Jonas Ward's company and was in many battles. He served as lieutenant in the Sussex County, New Jersey militia. He was born and died in New Jersey."
