I have not heard from any of you, but I have found some additional information if anyone else is interested in Benjamin Franklin Cage Sr (1814-1887).
I have determined that Rebecca Elizabeth Winchester was mother of Benjamin Franklin Cage.He was born June 8, 1814 in Sumner County, TN.I can find no marriage record but have strong evidence to support that the baby's father was a CAGE and the mother was Rebecca Elizabeth Winchester. She named this baby boy Trophonius James Cage Winchester.
Rebecca married a Abraham Beck on May 18, 1815 in Stokes County, North Carolina.
In November 1819 (when Trophonius was abt 5 years old) she filed a name change in the Sumner County, TN court changing his name from Trophoniou James Cage Winchester to BENJAMIN FRANKLIN CAGE (this is my 3rd great grandfather and Rebecca would be my 3rd great grandmother by blood).
Rebecca and Abraham had abt 11 children via their marriage.
Rebecca and Abraham are both buried in Pleasant View Cemetery in Lebanon, Boone County (nka Wilson CO), Indiana.
So, now I am searching for anyone (possibly some BECK family) that has record of this boy born before Rebecca married my 3rd great grandfather, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN CAGE.
The father should be one of the sons from Major William Cage and wife Elizabeth Douglass.Until finding out about Rebecca less than a month ago, we thought we were descended from Maj William's son Capt John C Cage & Thankful Morgan, but now with finding out about Rebecca Winchester, we are not sure which CAGE son was the father of Benjamin Franklin Cage.
I have collected in the past week alot of information on this subject and would love to discuss with anyone else that has interest and/or information to provide (esp on the BECK famiy if anyone has family bible or other info that shed light on the name change in Nov 1819 in Sumner County, TN courts.
