Hi Judy, I have seen mention of the Kuessy and Kessy variants but not seen any documentation myself, with one exception. At Tim Hebert's Acadian-Cajun.com page, Tim had a scanned image of the 1671 census of Port Royal. There Roger's name has been generally accepted to bedocumented as Kuessy, however, my stab at handwriting interpretation leads to my personal belief it could be spelled Kriessy based on comparing other words on the page. However, if it were, I don't think our present variants would have been "sound-alikes" for Casey. However, there are more well versed historians than I in our little group, so does anyone else have any input?
