The lecture about the Brinds was given by Geoffrey Copus in Sept 1996.He lives in Tunbridge Wells (where Marian Harriet Caldecott, née Brind, died), but he used to live in Chelsfield, Kent, the village where she and her family lived. The Brind family home in Chelsfield was called Court Lodge, and it still exists. He later reported that in about 1998 an original edition of "The Owls of Olynn Belfry", with sketches by Randolph Caldecott, was found in a long-forgotten chest at Chelsfield Parish Church. In this copy, the real names of Chelsfield people, whose likenesses Caldecott had used in the sketches, were written alongside each sketch."Thus is solved the identities of Marian, her sisters Amy and Maggie, brother Frank and their father."So Amy was Marian's sister (and Randolph Caldecott's sister-in-law). I haven't yet got any notes of Mr Copus' lecture, but will let you know if I do.
