I am trying to find out if you've run across anything in Evan's journals that might contain information on his slaves. The last ancestor that I've been able to find are Agnes and Umphries Calfee/Caffee. Her oldest son George Calfee/Caffee was my gg-grandfather I am researching my family tree for our family. It is my hope and prayer to collect as much data as I can so that my children and grandchildren can grow with the knowledge of, not only, who they are, but have an understanding of where they came from. I have seen Evan's father's will and noticed that there were no disbursement of slaves to him, only the land in Coosa County where the plantation was located by the Weogulfka Creek.
Whatever information you have to assist me in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated. I have a question. Since Evan received no slaves from his father, could he have acquired them as a dowry from one of his wives?
The names that I'm looking for are: Agnes, Umphries, George, Jerry, Thomas, Robert, Caroline, Juda, or James Calfee/Caffee.
