Mary Elizabeth Calfee Dillow Stewart, 72, of 3808
Woodfield Drive, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, went home to
be with the Lord Thursday, October 23, 2008, at her home
following a brief illness.
She was born in Hillsville, VA, on July 23, 1936 and had
resided most of her life in Kingsport. Mary was a 1954
graduate of Sullivan High School. She was a former
employee of Mason Dixon, Sears, and Kingsport Times-News
and was award a lifetime membership in the P.T.A. She was
very active in volunteer work in the schools. Mrs. Stewart
was an active member of Glen Alpine United Methodist and
had taught Sunday School classes for over 25 years.
She was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jim and Ruth
Calfee; her first husband, Jimmie Dillow; and second
husband, Travis R. Stewart; a sister, Josie Barkley; and a
great-granddaughter, Emma Mary-Rose Dillow.
Surviving are a daughter, Vivian McGhee and husband Randy
of Kingsport, TN; two sons, James Stewart of Kingsport,
TN, Jeffrey Dillow and wife Jill of Roseville, NC; six
grandchildren, Minoka Dillow, Sarah Dillow, Murphy Dillow,
Parker McGhee, Gavyn McGhee, Brogan McGhee; a great-
grandson, Conner Dillow Ricter; and two nephews, Sydney
Barkley and Richard Barkley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday,
October 25, 2008 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes,
Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday,
October 26, 2008 at the funeral home with Dr. Kenneth W.
LaDuke officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn
Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Barkley, Richard Barkley, Tommy
Jones, Chris Barron, Vincent Hoard, Jackson Bloomer, Elmo
Light, and Lee Painter. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom
Boyer, Terry Milburn, and John Loggins.
Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Alpine United
Methodist Church, 3200 Glen Alpine Road, Kingsport, TN
