BROWN-CALKINS--At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben W. Calkins, on Emery street, Wednesday, September 8, 1920, Jay F. Brown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Miss Irene Calkins, Rev. Monroe Markley officiating. Owing to the confusion of Fair week, we failed to get this wedding for the last Ledger. Its was a plain, simple family wedding, only the immediate relatives and Mrs. Markley were present at the ceremony, the relatives of the groom being too far distant to come.The house was decorated with flowers from the garden of the bride’sfather. The bride is the daughter of our well known Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Calkins.She was born in Longmont, is a graduated of our High School and attended the State Agricultural College. The groom is a graduate of the Pratt Institute as an electrical engineer and was overseas in this country’s service. Mr. and Mrs. Brown will reside in Pittsburgh, having left for that city soon after the ceremony.
