Dear Garry,Thankyou for replying to my enquiry. What I can tell you is t.he Callanders I'm tracing did migrate from Balfron, S,S. in the late 1840's. I believe they were Adam Callander and Elizabeth Callander (Maiden Brown) who had a large family, John 1830, (died at birth?) John 1831, (Alex 1833 Which is where my link starts); Janet 1835, Adam 1838, Finley 1841, and Agnes Smith Callander 1844. All children born Balfron, except Agnes, Falkirk.
I believe Adam & Elizabeth came to Australia on a passenger vessel called "Tubal Cain" and arrived at Port Phillip Bay on New years day in 1854.
Now the Adam Callander I was referring to, I believe to be my G.G.Grandfather, born in 1851, in Scotland (where unknown.); but he did marry a Hannah Sanderson (b.1855) in Vic, Aust, in1951.
So I'm trying to find who his parents were, and when he came to Australia. (But I don't know where he fits in with regards to Adam and Elizabeth, maybe I have two different families!)
I hope I have made myself clearer in the information I'm after. But if you have any information in regards to these particular Callanders, I would appreciate in hearing from you.
