Greetings, Bruce, Alexander [Hanna] Cammock,[AHC] b. 21 Mar 1841, d. 7 Apr. 1916 was my Great,great, grandfather. I have been told by another family historia, Victor Stanley Cammock, the Alexander's father, Alexander, was born about 1819, and d. in 1850, when Alexander was only 9, and his mother Jane was left with 5 children, Jane, the youngest being 2 y.o. AHC married Esther Kelly 5 May 1859, in the Conlig Presbyterian Church, Bangor, County Down.[Marriage entry 38, which I have a photocopy off a slide.] The couple had 2 children in Ireland, Alexandra 26 Oct 1959 - 22 Aug 1917, Francis, c1861 - 18 Aug 1926. James [my Great grandfather] was b. North Riding, Durham, 28 Sept 1863 - 15 Dec 1950. His brother, David [Davie] c1861 - 12 Jul 1929 is also thought to have been born in Durham.Alexander and Esther had a further 8 children here in New Zealand. To date, I have 2994 names on my computer of this family. Are you aware of the book by Frank Owen Fisher, 'Memoirs of the Camac's of Co. Down', written for John Burges Camac in 1857.Only 50 books were printed.I have a photocopy of Volume no 15. It flows from John Camac 1425 -1481, through England to Ireland, finishing with John Camack of Dublin who went to America, and d. 1755.
