You know, I have no idea where I came up with some of those dates. It's obviously not very accurate though, since it would make John and David born about 8 months apart, which I don't believe is possible.I think I posted that note not long after discovering my Cammack connection, and I've since learned to be more skeptical of information, and to go back and record and check and double check sources.Consequently, since that posting, I've changed a lot of my information, much of it based on the information given in your website and other places. So I suppose I've since discounted some of the earlier sources, because going back and looking at my database now, I have you listed as the source for much of the information. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on John and his children though, as you can see by the source below.
Family Group Sheet of John Cammack, by Jesse W. White, Castro Valley CA, compiled April 26, 1994. (Jesse W. White is Sarah Melvina Cammack's great-great grandson)
He's got the children's dates listed as follows:
1.David - Dec 5, 1774 2.John - ca. 1780 3.Michael - ca. 1781 4.Sarah - (no date) 5.Anne - ca. 1783 6.Mary Polly - ca. 1784 7.Samuel - ca. 1796 8.Margaret - ca. 1798 9.Lewis - ca. 1801
I'll keep looking and see if I can find out where I got that from, and get back with you.As an endnote,John Cammack was my 6th great grandfather, and I'm descended from him as follows:
1. John Cammack + Margaret Purtle
2. Michael Cammack + Sarah Milburn
3. Lewis Cammack + Araminta Cureton
4. Sarah Melvina Cammack + Jesse Cole George
5. Mattie E. George + Thomas K. White
6. Sallie A. White + Robert Patterson Phillips
7. Onnie Pearl Phillips + Webster Carthell Snell
8. Webster Phillips Snell +Shirley Ann Taylor
9.Michael David Snell (me)
Thanks for prompting me to go back and look at this again, no telling how long I would have gone without seeing this error.
