Morwood John Candy, Devon

I'm looking for information on Candy families in Devon. My gg grandfather Moorwood John Candy was born in Bratton Clovelly, Devon in 1851. The only information I have on him concerns his later life - he married and settled in Cardiff, South Wales and had several children. I have bits of information where has has used both John and Morwood as his first name so I am unsure which is correct. Any info on Candy families in Devon would be a great help. Thanks
