I'm searching for a connection between my CANIPEs & Christian KNEIP of Germany-- I'm certain there is one-- and to find the maiden names of several female CANIPE ancestors. Here's my line:
1) Henry KNEIP/KNIPE/KANIPE +? 2) Abraham CANIPE (b abt 1850 d 1920s?) +Mary E. (b 07 Mar 1843 d 19 Feb 1894) 3) Rev. Clarence Richardson CANIPE (b 09 Feb 1877, Cleveland Co., NC d 01 Jul 1919) +Lela FINGER (b 09 May 1882, Lincoln Co., NC d 01 Sep 1974) 4) Clyde Asbury CANIPE (b 29 Dec 1909) 4) Walter Grigg CANIPE (b 05 Dec 1913) 4) Clem Lee CANIPE (b 06 Sep 1917) 4) Laura Ellen CANIPE (b 1919)
I am the grandson of Clem Lee CANIPE.My great-grandfather, Rev. Clarence Richardson CANIPE, was an ordained minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.Clarence was born and raised near Palm Tree Church in Cleveland Co., NC.The following persons are found in the CANIPE burial plot at Palm Tree Church:
CANIPE, Thomas Goode (b 19 Jul 1907 d 25 Apr 1956) CANIPE, Susane Grigg (b 11 May 1864 d 18 Jan 1939) CANIPE, Mary E. (b 07 Mar 1843 d 19 Feb 1894) CANIPE, Margaretta (b 05 Feb 1852 d 10 Aug 1905) CANIPE, Lela Finger (b 09 May 1882 d 01 Sep 1974) CANIPE, Rev. C.R. (b 09 Feb 1877 d 01 Jul 1919)
I do not know who Thomas, Susane, and Margaretta are, but they are obiviously related. The only information I have concerning Abraham is that he is the son of Henry (from voter registration 1901, Cleveland Co.) and information from the Cleveland Co., NC census of 1880.Abraham (age 29 is listed next to Christopher CANIPE (age 65)-- an uncle?-- and Jackson GRIGG (age 58).I believe Abraham's wife may have been a GRIGG.
If anyone has any information about this CANIPE line, I'd be most grateful for any help.Thank you,
