Marie (Alberti) Cantin, 77, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 55 years of Norman Cantin, died suddenly, Saturday, (July 23, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Carmella (Delbon) Alberti, and had lived in Wethersfield since 1970. Marie formerly worked for the State of CT Labor Dept. and Motor Vehicle Dept. for a combined total of over 20 years. She was a communicant of Incarnation Church and a member of the Women's Club of the church. She was an ardent painter and a former member of the Wethersfield Art League. She was a former organist at several area Catholic churches. Marie was a devoted grandmother and she will be missed by them. Besides her husband Norman, she is survived by three sons, Joseph Cantin and his wife Sarah of Wethersfield, James Cantin and his partner, Elizar DeJesus of Orleans, NJ, Ralph Cantin and his partner John Raimondi of West Palm Beach, FL; a daughter, Eileen Cantin and her partner Rosemary Montagno of Cromwell; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle and Michael Cantin all of Wethersfield; a brother, Raymond Alberti and his wife Sue of Southwick, MA; a sister, Florence Massow of Suffield; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Al, John and Judith. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 26, 2005, 9:15 a.m. from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at Incarnation Church, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 25th, 5-8 p.m. at The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home.
