Norman Cantin, 83, of Wethersfield, loving husband for 55 years of the late Marie (Alberti) Cantin, died Sunday, (November 14, 2010). He was born in Hartford, son of the late Raoul and Aurora (Gagne) Cantin and lived in Wethersfield since 1970. Prior to his retirement Norman served with the Hartford Fire Department for 26 years. He later worked for the State of CT Judicial Dept for 15 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and participated in the D Day Invasion. He was a member of the Hartford Firefighter's Benevolent Assoc., The Fireman's Protective Assoc. The Police and Fireman's Assoc. and was a member of V.F.W. Post 9927. He is survived by a brother, Paul Cantin of Hebron, three sons, Joseph Cantin of Wethersfield, James Cantin of New Jersey, and Ralph Cantin of Florida, a daughter, Eileen Cantin of Cromwell, three grandchildren. Jennifer, Michelle and Michael Cantin. The funeral will be private. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in his memory may be made to: a charity of the donor's choice.
