Thanks for the interesting information on Michael and Martha's descendants.
Patrick Campini was born in Mergoscia, a village in Ticino (a Canton/ district) in Switzerland. This borders onto Northern Italy and is an Italian speaking district of Switzerland. The culture of Ticino is still very Italian today. This is not surprising, as historically, this area was once part of Italy. It is also interesting to note that Capella was a popular surname in Mergoscia.
I got a copy of Patrick's death certificate this week. He died at 8 Court, Digbeth, of consumption on 18 Dec 1838, aged 38. Like Martha and Michael, Patrick was a practising RC and regularly sponsored children who were being baptised at St Chad's.
If Caroline did exist, she must have died before the 1851 Census, as there is no mention of her living with her parents at 104 Digbeth. Michael Antony is listed as aged 4 but Caroline, who would have been 1 or 2, is not listed.
Yes, I am based in Birmingham.
