According to my sources, the O'Neal-Capers family Bible and the book "The O'Neals of East Baton Rouge Parish, the Early Years" written by Gary O'Neal, the two sons of George Sinclair Capers, William and James, both married daughters of John Lenoir.
William Hickson Capers married Elizabeth Lenoir on July 2, 1805 in Sumter, South Carolina.
James Capers married Eleanor Lenoir on July 11, 1813 in Sumter, South Carolina.
The O'Neal-Capers Bible belonged to Martha Susan Capers (1820-1900), a daughter of James Capers and Eleanor Lenoir.Martha Susan Capers was one of the 10 children born to the couple.Their last child (not named) was born and died on 25 Nov 1825.Eleanor died shortly thereafter on 9 Dec 1825, presumably from complications related to her recent childbirth. She was only 30 years old at the time of her death, and was survived by her husband and 7 children. Two other children had died in infancy.James Capers remarried and had two addtional children, one born in 1827, the other in 1830.
Martha Susan Capers, daughter of James Capers and Eleanor Lenoir married Peter O'Neal, which explains the name of her family Bible.
