I am researching this line as well as I believe I may be descended from William Kepklinger and Magdelena Matilda Caplinger. My notes (mostly from Tom King) show three children for them (there are most likely more than this).
Catherine Keplinger, b. ca 1800 M. Humphrey Huffman on 28 Sept 1820. 7 children per Tom King.
Jacob Caplinger, b. Sep 1811 (birthdate can't be this - see next sibling) m. Christine "Tene" Zetty on 15 Dec 1832. 9 children. The family is in Franklin Township, Adams Co., OH in 1850 census. William and George in 1840 Ohio Census in Highland Co. Jackson Twp.[Fabian.FTW] Reference for childrens' names and birthdates: Ref. 1850 census Adams Co., Franklin Twp. & 1860 Census Pike Co., Benton Twp. OH
George Caplinger, b. 30 Nov. 1811 m. Jemima Shoemaker on 20 Feb 1834 I show 15 childen. 1870 Census: George Caplinger, 57, male, w, OH, Adams, Franklin Twp, roll 1167, Page 3. He is listed on the same page as his son Jacob Caplinger. Another reference (lost) had Rockingham listed as his place of birth. I will defer to what he put on his census. Tom King said that Jemima and George had 15 children. Their fourth child was Mary Caplinger, born: Highland Co., OH. Married: Philip Shinkle. He was born: Ross Co., OH., 20 Mar 1836, s/o Frederick. Show one daughter: Mary Shinkle - married: George McCalla. No further information. Please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Other notes I have: http://genforum.genealogy.com/caplinger/messages/388.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/caplinger/messages/388.html Post by Carrie MacKenzie: "Jacob Caplinger b. Sep 1811, Highland Co., OH d. 02 Feb 1877, Pike Co., OH. Was the son of William Caplinger & Magdalena Matilda Caplinger (William & Magdalena were cousins). Jacob married Christene (Tene) Setty."
William shows up on the 1820 census.
