I am researching the Thomas Jefferson Harmon family for a friend. For a starting point, he gave me a copy of a short unpublished family history put together by a g-granddaughter of Thomas Jefferson Harmon. The g-granddaughter was his mother's cousin. She says a little about Eliza as follows:
"On December 10, 1812 Richard D. Harman, Thomas Harman and Benjamin Capps enlisted in Capt. James Terrill's Troop of Cavalry, in Col. John Coffee's Regiment. They were also shown in records of the Natchez Expedition in 1813. This Benjamin Capps and his wife Sarah were the parents of our great-frandmother Eliza Capps."
"Great-grandfather Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) Harman was born in 1802, and great-grandmother Eliza Capps in 1813. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Capps and I believe that the family came from Currituck County, Norht Carolina.
...(Thomas Jefferson Harman) died in 1866 and was first buried in the Old City Cemetery, but when grandmother Eliza died in 1893 he was moved to be next to her.
...They are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on the A. A. Hite lot, near the office."
The Thomas Harman named in the first paragraph is not Thomas Jefferson Harman but his uncle. Richard D. Harman is named as Thomas Jefferson Harman's father in this family history. Thomas Jefferson Harman and Eliza Capps had 11 children.
