I don't know whether there is a link to your family, but the names, places and time frames are similar to members of my Capps family.
We are trying to establish the family tree of Ransom W Capps, who was born in 1819 in South Carolina. He was a pioneer settler in Bradley County, AR. We think he and his wife died in the civil war or immediately afterward, leaving orphan children in Arkansas. Some of the children migrated to east Texas about 1875.
Ransom Capps married first Mary Lane in Bradley County, AR. They had three children, Cora Capps(1856), Charles Capps (1857) and James Capps (1859). Charles Capps married Mary Rogers in Bradley County, AR. We know they had one son, Walter Capps (born 1875 in Bradley County, AR). I believe they migrated to Texas.
After Mary Lane's death, Ransom Capps married Sarah Catherine Stewart. They had two children, M Alice Capps (1862), and John Capps (1864). Alice Capps is my maternal great grandmother.
John Capps (1864) had one son, Everett Capps. There may be other children as well. That family migrated to east Texas about 1875.
