my great grandfather was Jehu Jackson Brinson (b. 1865)of Baird's Creek,NC (Arapahoe). His father was Green Carawan Brinson (also of Baird's Creek, NC).I believe that Walter Carawan Brinson is Jehu's brother and often reftered to in the family by my grandmother (Ethel Brinson, born 1896)as Uncle Walter. The stories I remember about him all centered around what a jovial and fun and tall man he was.He was a favorite of the family.I think he lived in Bellhaven, NC.My side of the family always refered to the Bellhaven branch as the big Brinson's or the tall Brinson's.Is this part of your family?I have also wondered about the Carawan and Green name.As a first name it is so unusual. There are many Caraways in the Pamlico area, but not Carawan's.I've also wondered if Green was in reference to Nathaniel Green(e) of the revolutionary war.Have you found out anymore information?Do you think the primative baptist reference is true?My great-uncle,Jack Brinson, told me that GC Brinson was a baptist.
