Hi all: We believe our line is confirmed on paper to Ephraim Carle m. Ruth Higgins (b. 1728) of New Jersey.
I'm wondering if Y-DNA testing would help us sort out whether Ephraim was related to other NJ or NY Carle families (var. spellings).
Have descendants of _other_ Carle lines from NJ or NY considered using DNA to help sort out some of the early families?
I corresponded a little with the project coordinator at FamilyTree DNA who has a couple of Carle members. Based on what I could learn at Y-search, one of the members probably has some ties back to early NJ.
The project at FamilyTree DNA is titled "Carley."
Hope you'll post if you are considering the DNA option in your Carle research.
