I, too, am descended from Cpt. Thomas CARLE, married to Sarah HALSTE(A)D, and have proved my Loyalist connection down from their Loyalist descendant John CARLE (married to Elizabeth MISENER, whose father Leonard MISENER is also one of my proven Loyalists).
I did not see a reply to the query of whether Thomas CARLE, New BRUNSWICK Loyalist, is also a descendant of Cpt. Thomas CARLE.
PS: Descent from Thomas CARLE to his son, John CARLE (abt. 1664-1735, to his son, Jacob CARLE 1706-1730, to his son, John CARLE 1727-1809 & Freelove MITCHELL, to their son, John CARL, UEL 1755-1836, a Quaker and Butler's Ranger, who came to Niagara abt. 1784.
UEL (United Empire Loyalist), is a CANADIAN term for citizens who fought for the British, during the American Revolution, and, in return, were given land in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, (present-day) Ontario (and elsewhere); sort of like DAR, but opposite :-)
UE is a Canadian historical post nominal that stands for Unity of Empire
