Looking for family of Margariete CARPENTIER STYERS NAVARRE (1830-1918) Is she a d/o Joseph CARPENTIER? Is she a granddaughter of Jean Baptiste CARPENTIER? I haveclues, but no proof.
Jean Baptiste came to U.S. via Quebec, CANADA. Some of the families their children married also came from CANADA to Calhoun Co, IL.
I have a hearing problem and when I heard a FRENCH speaking person pronounce CARPENTIER, I heard "CARPUNKY";-)I recently found a desc. of CARPANKYs of Calhoun Co, IL.Could they be the same family?!?
Ok.back to Margarite: Margarite (1830 Keokuk, Iowa) married Andrew Jackson STYERS (1826 - 1867)had 9 children.I have found 5. George Washington STYERS (1854 Calhoun Co, IL - 1928 St. Charles, MO) --- m (1881) Matilda Ellen MEEKER (at least 4 children, found only 2) Andrew Jackson STYERS Jr (1856 - 1881 buried in Calhoun Co, IL) William David STYERS (1858-1935 FL) m. Margarite, after her STYERS husband died, married (1870) Joseph NAVARRE of Calhoun Co, IL.
