NAME: CARPENTIER - "Of this house was Jan le Carpentier,
Treasurer-General of the Emperor Charles the Fifth, who by
Marguerite de Langhe, daughter of Jean, had a daughter
named Jeanne le Carpentier, who married Matthieu de
Keinooghen, son of Jean Escuyer and Barbe d'Espelghem,
who was father of Marie de Keynooghem married
to Adrian van der Goes."
Per the book: GENEALOGY OF THE DE CARPENTIER FAMILY OF HOLLAND BY EDWIN JAQUETT SELLERS, Printed in PHILADELPHIA, PA in 1909.
Correction and clarification, of the above, by Arend A. de Carpentier in December 2013.
Of this house was Jean le Carpentier, Treasurer- General of the Emperor Charles the Fifth (= The JAN born 15 Aug 1511 in Messenen (Meessen), W. Flanders, son of Pieter de Carpentier, born 1488, and married with Catherine Godschalk, born 1492) , who by Marguerite de Langhe, daughter of Jean, had a daughter named Jeanne le Carpentier, who married Matthieu de Keinooghen, son of Jean Escuyer and Barbe d'Espelghem, who was father of Marie de Keynooghem married to Adrian van der Goes.
And as far as I can trace them, the Maguerite de Langhe - de Carpentier (!), and the Jeanne le Carpentier, Matthieu and Marie de Keinoghe(n), Jean Escuyer, Barbe d'Espelchem and Adria(e)n van de Goes, lived indeed in the 16th century, so 1 century before Marguerite-15422 and Jean Carpentier-30460 ! of the early 17th century!
I can only suppose that the genealogist (?) who put these data together, was mislead by a French habit (I found) of calling our 16th century (starting with 1501 and finishing with the year 1500) the 15th century (starting with the year 1500 and ending with 1599!)
