Thank you for responding! I have found some information re C.B. Carrier but I still need additional information about his education, background and family genealogy. You've given me a great link telling me Lima A. (nee Carrier) Jefferson was the daughter of his sister which links her to the family genealogy of a close relative of mine, the Jefferson families of Lake City. I have the list of the names on the tombstones in the Lake City cemetery..Jeffersons: Barton A. 12/25/1882 d. 3/30/1965; Charles M. 7/25/1873 d 7/28/1930;Edward R. 2/1/888 d. 6/27/1905; Elizabeth F. 9/15/1853 d 10/10/1933;Frank W. 1871d 1923; Leroy 1875 d. 1953Spanish War; Lima A. 1867 d. 1939; Myrtle 1875 d. 1959 and Thomas H.1846 d. 1910 Bucktails.
At Roots Web I found names of Milton's children as: Nellie, Clarence, Myrtle, Leroy, Mildred and Norman B.Do you know the names of the wives of the men and the names of the husbands for Milton's children? At Roots Web Sarah Helen nee Strong was given as Milton's wife.
Clarence B. Carrier was teaching in Dec of 1900 in a very rual village which had grown up around a saw mill known as Rainetown/Raintown. The mill closed in 1905.The area has been a "ghost town" since that time.During unknow dates, but after he left his teaching position at Rainetown, Clarence was teaching at the rural community in Lake City. For several years the Lake City school building has been in the process of being "taken back in time" to it's orignal appearance. The upstairs, where grades 5th to 8th grades were taught will become a museum.
It's unknown where Clarence went after he left the Lake City area. That is, did he continue to teach and if so where did he teach. It would be great to be able to have a photo of him as a young man during his early teaching career and in later years which could be added to a booklet being composed about former teachers of the Lake City school.
Thanks again for your response. If I can assist you with your resarch just contact me...I'm very familiar with the rural area of Spring Creek and Millstone Townships.
