Can anyone help piece this puzzle back together? My gr. Grandfather Samuel Carrier lost his first wife at a young age(for whom I do not yet have a name) They had 3 children, the 2 oldest were boys and the baby was Marie Carrier. However, gr.grandad(who was catholic) remarried a a protestant scottish woman by the name of Mary Campbell and hence he became a Protestant too.The church was very upset with him because they believed he could not raise his catholic children in the proper manner. After much commotion, the children were finally taken away from him. They must have been told a horrible story of not being wanted as they were never heard of again. I am told tht poor old Gr. Granddad was overheard crying himself to sleep for many nights. He had 3 more children with Mary....Lawrence Carrier, Anne Melvina Carrier, and lillian Carrier who were born inMA. USA.Could this possibly be the story of someone from your family tree?
