I am writing in response to your request for information on Native American Carrolls.Rufus Carroll was my great-grandfather.According to family legend,either he or his wife Eva Hardin were full-blooded Cherokee.My mother remembers her father, Hubert, returning excited after a visit to Gatlinburg where he learned he was Native American and spoke with the head of the tribe.This is all that I have and like you, I am having a terrible time finding information about this part of my family.RUFUS YANCY1 CARROLL was born March 28, 1869 in (Muskegee, OK, ??) and died March 21, 1944.He married EVA HARDIN, daughter of DAN HARDIN.
