I was being serious.Take one childbearing child, assume that it had 2 children, then each of them had 2, etc., at intervals of 20 years each (pretty conservative numbers).In 220 years, there would be 2,048 direct line descendants.Considering the average number of children per household previous to this century, in reality, the compounded number should be much, much higher.If you added just one more 20 year cycle to the above number, there would be 4,096 direct line descendents.I was of the understanding that your question involved direct line descendants, not 8th cousins.
