NOt exactly.I live in MD, and my ancestors moved from the western shore to the eastern shore(Chestertown, Kent COunty), at the time there were an abscence of catholic churches in the area, but who can really say whether, they converted; or were always Methodists which we are now. I believe that our family converted sometime during this century, because the closest church to my great grandparents farm was a methodist church. Considering the difference in faith, I still believe I am a descendant of Charles Carroll of Carrollton. My name is John Carroll, my father's name is John Carroll, My Great Grandfather's name was John Carroll, his father was also John Carroll, he was the one who moved from the western shore to Chestertown sometime during the early 1800's.
Don't doubt the religion factor all it takes is research. someday I will get around to it.
