Seeking decendants of William Carrol Sen. whose will was written in Granville County, North Carolina Oct 26, 1781. Same proven in 1782. I am attempting to determine if he is the same William Carroll who is listed on John Earps estate record in Fairfax County, Virginia in 1744. William's will list several children including Kezia Harp. Other daughters listed are Ann Champion, Elisabeth Garrard. His wife is listed as Elisabeth Carroll. Sons listed are Jesse Carrol who received his father's plantation that he received from Thomas Bridgers containing 245 acres, son Thomas, son William Jr., also other daughters Jenny and Mary. This will was proven before Reuben Searcy. Searcy was residing in Johnston County in the 1787 US Federal Census in the same district that my fifth great grandfather resided. He is William Earp who died in Johnston County, May 1794.At the beginning of 1760, Granville County was sitting above Johnston County. Currently Granville is north of Durham, Wake, and Franklin. Any ancestors or possible tie-in to Fairfax County Virginia would certainly be appreciated.
