Just to let you know, my files show several men named Richmond Carroll, and they were relatives to each other. One was found in Henry County, Georgia who was the son of Eldridge Carroll. Eldridge was the son of David, and the grandson of Douglass Carroll. Eldridge named his son 'Richmond' after his uncle of the same name.
This other Richmond Carroll, the older one, was the son of the same Douglass Carroll listed above, brother to David Carroll, and this Richmond had moved to Freestone County, Texas, prior to the Civil War, and is buried there, he died in 1868. He reportedly also had a son by the name of Richmond Carroll.
These 3 men named Richmond Carroll were all of the same family. All were descendents of Douglass Carroll, Rev War Vet from Franklin County, NC who moved to Shoulderbone Creek,Georgia, in 1798.
