1800s/HARPER/PARKER/CARROLL/JENNINGS/BAZAR/ETC.
Hello,
I am trying to track down some missing pieces that appear that they may connect with additional HARPER and CARROLL families other than the ones I have been researching. It is possible that Huldah HARPER, born:1816 in Richland District, South Carolina, and husband, Benjamin Franklin CARROLL, Sr. who married in 1831 in Copiah County, MS and and are related to families in Jones County, MS.
Later in this information I will show how Sarah Adeline HARPER's husband, John William PARKER, is descended in my family group and searching for how Sarah Adeline HARPER might be related to Huldah HARPER.
Before I go further into this CARROLL and HARPER family I will simply mention some of the connecting aspects that may possibly exist for my family lines:
I descend from MYRICK - PIERCE - HERRINGTON - GRANTHAM - AMMONS - STUCKEY - HOWELL - DICKENS/DICKINS/DICK(ER)SON - GRAVES - LOTT?/MIDDLETON? family group that appears to descend from Susannah CARROLL and Francis MYRICK, Sr., son of Owen MYRICK, born:Abt. 1635.
My families were, primarily, 1600s Virginia > NC > SC > GA and/or AL > MS > LA and then in the 1950s my branch into TX.
This MYRICK family group above married into the family of my paternal 2nd great grandfather, Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, born:1795 in Maryland, who married 2 or 3 times, - (BAZAR?) - family out of Copiah County, MS, (1830/1840 census,) into my descent from the 2nd wife, Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS - EARLE - WILLIAMS # 1 - WILLIAMS # 2 - PEMBERTON - BILLINGTON - HOL(D)BROOK(E)(S) - PATTISON - (CONYERS) - (STANWAY) - (HODGKISSON) - WILCOXSON/WILLCOCKSEN family group that married into the Jones County, Mississippi family group of LEWIS, ELLZEY, COLLINS, (COLEMAN?,) (BRIGHT,) TUCKER, COPELAND, RIPLEY, LOTT.
My paternal 2nd great grandfather, Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, may be the same Jeremiah PARKER who married Sarah BAZAR, (perhaps known as Sally and perhaps with spellings of BAZER/BAZOR/etc. but I don't know for sure.)There was a marriage of Jeremiah PARKER and Sarah BAZAR on December 17, 1822 in Jefferson County, Mississippi which later became Pickering County. My Jeremiah PARKER is found in 1830 Copiah County, Mississippi census with his 1st set of children by either a 1st or 2nd wife which could have been this Sarah BAZAR as they married in 1822 and the children in this 1st set were born after the 1820 time period. Then they are on the 1840 Copiah County, Mississippi census but still no name for the wife and then in the 1850 Smith County, MS census with the 2nd/3rd wife who was my paternal 2nd great grandmother, the aforementioned Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS, born:1821/22 in Covington County, Mississippi, (census says Alabama and her grandfather, Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.,) died in Mobile, Alabama i845,) and Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS was the stepmother to the 2nd set of children that are shown in the 1850 Smith County, MS census then she is the natural mother of the 3rd set of children that are shown in the 1870 Rankin County, MS census where she is shown as the head of the household.
The 3rd set of children included my paternal great grandfather, Spencer B. PARKER, born:1859, died;1930, who married Rachael Moranda "Randy" LEWIS, (who may have married a ? COLEMAN 1st then married Wesley BRIGHT as 2nd husband and then Spencer B. PARKER as her 3rd husband.Rachael Moranda LEWIS was the daughter of Harriett ELLZEY and John LEWIS and is somehow related to the KNIGHT family of Jones County.John LEWIS's mother was Nancy COPELAND, (daughter of Ripley COPELAND, Sr., (RS,) and his wife, Rachael TUCKER.)And Harriett ELLZEY's mother is believed to have been named Mary COLLINS and Harriett's father was Evan ELLZEY.
Again, in the 2nd set of children of the aforementioned Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, born:1795 in Maryland, and his 1st or 2nd wife which may have been Sarah "Sally?" BAZAR, there were 3 children:Jacob A. PARKER, Ann PARKER and Mary/Marian/Miriam PARKER.Jacob A. PARKER was born between 1834-1835 either in Copiah County or Smith County, Mississippi and he married Amelia TREASY and they were the parents of:
George PARKER
Wiley Hilliard PARKER
...md:Ida HYMAN
Jenny PARKER
...md:Robert "Bob" ELLIOTT
John William PARKER
...md:Sarah Adeline HARPER
I am wondering if this Sarah Adeline HARPER is somehow related to the family of Huldah HARPER and might provide some additional clues to the other research.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone regarding this.
Sincerely,
Bellinda Myrick - Barnett
