Former Resident Dies in Nebraska
A former Howard county resident, Mrs Jennette Yowell Bethards, died Wednesday morning in Plattsmouth Nebr., where she had made her home for the past few years. Before her marriage in 1942 to Litt Bethards, who survives, she had been married to the late Ed O'Neal, one-time marshal in Fayette. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in Plattsmouth. Among those who plan to attend are a daughter of Mrs. Bethards, Mrs. Ernest Ray of New Franklin, and Mrs. Ray's daughter, Mrs. Richard Yaeger. Mrs. Bethards, who was born in Louisville, Ky., in 1874, moved to Howard County and lived near New Franklin and Fayette and also in the town of New Franklin. Her first marriage was to William Carroll and after his death Mrs. Bethards was married to Mr. O'Neal. She left Howard County 13 years ago. Besides Mr. Bethards, she is survived by seven of her 11 children; Mrs. Ray and Mrs. Margaret Turner of New Franklin, Mrs. Gyp childers of Fayette, Mrs. Dick Brasher of Georgia, William Carroll of Tebbetts, Mo., B. F. Carroll of Wisconsin, and Mrs. Joe Naranjo of Plattsmouth.
