Farmer Commits Suicide
W.J. Carroll, a respected farmer resideing near Hilldale in Moniteau township, died about eight-thirty yesterday morning from the effects of poisoning. Mr. Carroll was sixty-six years of age and leaves a wife and eight children. He took Paris Green Tuesday evening and altho physicians did all they could to save his life, he died in about ten hours. No reasons are assigned for his suicide. Coroner Smith held an inquest at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The coroner's verdict read "by committing suicide by taking poison." The jury consisted of Paul Pipes, foreman; Lin C. Pipes, W. L. Ray, J. E. Sutherland, C. B. Sutherland and Ed Lawrence.
