Looking for a my 2x's Great-Grandfather. Charles M. Carroll, b. abt 1828 in York, Cnty. SC. Married Nancy DOBSON and had four sons. He left SC in 1867 leaving his wife and sons behind. A Charles M. CARROLL shows up in 1870, Gordon Cnty. GA Census age 40, m. to an Eliza, with 3 children. His age is right but the children are all wrong, maybe they were his wife's children and he gave them his name? A Charles M. Carroll, age 50 shows up in the 1880 Census, Sebastian Cnty, Cntr Twp.m. to a Margarett, one son, Charles M. Carroll, age 9. This looks right again.
In the 1900 Census of Bass Little Twp.,Sebastian, Co. AR. there is a CARROLL, Charles age 71, with wife Margaret, son John c. age 18 and daughter, ERIE age 21
In the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Greenwood, AR,there is a CARROLL, C. M., b. 1871, d. 1892, a CARROLL, c. M. b. 1828, d. Dec. 1, 1901, and CARROLL, John Calvin, b. Jul 1881, d. Aug 24, 1903.
Can anyone help with these CARROLL'S. Am hoping to prove or disprove that Charles M. Carroll, Sr. was my 2x's Great-grandfather. Thank you Diane in WI firstname.lastname@example.org
