Seek Descendants of my g.g. Uncle, James Carroll born 1815 County Mayo son of ( unknown ) immigrated in 1847 with wife, Rose Conlon and children settled in Dubuque, Iowa in 1850.Eight children died in Ireland.Two survived to see America, Michael 1838 and John H. 1842.Another son, Charles J was born in Ohio in 1849 and a daughter Anne T. was born in 1851.SEEKING DESCENDANTS.The first son, Michael and his wife Bridget McDermott ( 1845 ) lived first in Dubuque and later settled in Cherokee, Iowa.They had many children, including Charles 1866, James 1872, William J. 1875, Walter A. 1885, and Clarence Raphael 1888.CHARLES ( fate unknown ).JAMES married Florence Grove ( children unknown ).WILLIAM J. ( fate unknown but in 1910 he was living in Summit Township with brother Clarence ).WALTER W. married Esther Price ( 1885 ) and they had children Dexter J. ( died rural Madera ), Kenneth W. ( 1910 ), Reuben ( Billy) F ( 1921 ), Hertha A (1913), Helyne L. ( 1916).All of Walter and Esther’s children were born in Iowa but in the 1920’s the entire family moved to California.What I have learned is Walter died in 1972 in Duarte.Son Kenneth died in 1981 in Pasadena.Daughter Helyne married Warren Fife and daughter Hertha married Claris Corder.ANY DESCENDANTS out there??There was son CLARENCE RAPHAEL who married Katherine Bertleson ( 1890 ).They lived in Los Angeles where it appears he married a second time to Eileen Baust.Clarence died in 1979 in Temple City.The second son of James and Rose Conlon Carroll, JOHN H Carroll married Sarah Clark.The had two sons, Joseph B. ( 1879 ) and John Francis ( 1881 ).Joseph married Elizabeth Hassett ( fate unknown ) and John Francis married Mabelle Brown Thill ( fate unknown ).I have a baby photo of son John Francis born 1881.Third son CHARLES J Carroll married Cahterine Byne ( 1855 ) ( fate unknown ) but apparently they did not have any children.Anne Therese the only surviving daughter of James and Rose Conlon Carroll married P J Sullivan and they had many descendants, one of whom I maintain close contact and who also is very interested in the family connection.I would appreciate hearing about any leads.My g.g. grandfather, Michael was brother to James Carroll.They also had a brother Thomas whom we don’t have any information except his name.
