I have not been able to verify Charles Littler as existing. It has been guessed that he was the unborn child of Mary Ross Littler mentioned in John Littler's will, but if so his siblings did not give him his inheritance for no such land transaction exists in the Frederick Co., deed books. Furthermore, Colin did not use Charles as given name for any of his sons. One might surmise some gratitude for rescuing him, giving him a trade - weaving - and teaching him to read. Colin had 12 religious books in his inventory. I have not verified that he was a lay Methodist preacher.
I do believe that his name should have been properly spelt Carroll since I had a 35 marker dna made which matches two from County Cavan, One of those familes believes they came from Abbeyleix mid 1600's. that data would suggest withing 95% that that was where Colin's family came from.
