Jesse Carroll Sr. was a Revolutionary War veteran. He settled one mile south of Turkey, N.C. and called his plantation "Cedar Hill".
Jessie Carrol Sr. was the head of the Duplin/Sampson Carrolls. Primogenture caused many of these Johnston/Duplin/Sampson/Cumberland Co. cousins to migrate across the Cumberland Gap into Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Johnston Co. Carrolls also went straight south and settled in Columbia Co. Georgia then moving west and south too.
Jessie Carroll cousins were active Rev War patriots in the battles in NC/SC.Also, those Carroll cousins remainingwere very active as North Carolina Confederates in the Civil War.
