K, Thank you for your prompt reply to my inquiry about the parentage of "our" Samuel Carroll, husband of Elizabeth Sexton and after her death, husband of Amanda Black.Family lore has it that Samuel's father died when he was young and his mother remarried "unknown"Recently I found the in Greenbrier Co Court Orders of 1780-1850. June 1819, "Samuel Carroll Deceased, administration of estate is granted to Elizabeth Carroll-Court appointed appraisers of estate Alexander McClintic and John Carroll."Four pages later, Elizabeth Carrol has since "intermarried" to William Spencer and no longer able to perform as admistrator and is discharged.Administration granted to Clement Carrol.
I am wondering if any of your papers make reference to a Spencer Famil.I know that "our" Samuel moved several times between Willow Springs and/or Warrington, Indiana and back to Cabell County. If so, perhaps this is what I have been looking for. Thanks again. Marilyn
