I have been looking for the parents, home towns, or any other information relative to the ancestors of James Carroll (b ~1835) and his wife Mary Alice Lonergan (b ~1836-40?).Both were born in Ireland (possibly in the Cork area?) and probably were married there. They came to Lock Haven, PA about 1856-7.He was in the 52nd Infantry Regiment from PA during the Civil War. They had 6 children: John, Mary, Joseph, Alice, Ellen, and Hannah.James died sometime between the 1870 and 1880 US census. The family continued to live in Lock Haven.
Their daughter Mary was my great grandmother. She married Thomas Jeremiah (TJ) Crowley.Mary and TJ had 4 children William T (my grandfather), Carroll, Alice, and John who became a priest and was generally called Father Jack.
Any information on the antecedents of James or Alice would be greatly appreciated.
