I purchased an old quilt in Colorado that has no date but some of the embrodery is very badly worn. It is made up of flower rounds with two names embrodered in black in the centre of the flowers and four names embrodered around the outside of each flower ring. Some of the centre names maywell be married couples while others most certainly are not as they can be two men or two women. What interested me was finding the two names "Kit Carson and Rubye Carson" in the middle of one of the flowers.
I understand that the original Kit Carson had a First Nation family (that's Canadian for Native American Indian)and then a second wife who is buried in that little Cemetary in Taos. Was there another? I can find no mention of her.
