I am familiar with the work of Mark Baze as reported in posts to the Baze forum but thank you for the suggestion.I must admit that I have only a casual interest in the Baze genealogy as I encountered Peter Baze while researching the connection between Carter, Webb and Huddlesey in Henrico County and Goochland County shortly after its formation in 1728.
In particular I was attempting to determine how one Robert Carter came to possess a 100 acre piece of land in Goochland County that he deeded to Susannah Hulsey in 1729.This land was part of the land patented to Joseph Pleasants in 1715 and conveyed by him to John Webb in 1716. Webb subsequently conveyed 250 acres to Peter Baze in 1716 and 300 acres to Charles Huddlesy on the same day. Huddlesy's will devised 100 of the 300 acres to John Webb who deeded it to Samuel Peace in 1732, Elizabeth Webb releasing her dower rights.
I was unable to establish the Carter connection but the Bybe or Bibb family could provide the Webb-Baze connection.Thomas Bybe and wfe Elizabeth had a daughter Elizabeth who married John Webb, as proved in the 1729 will of Thomas Bybe in Goochland County. It is reported although I have seen no real proof that Thamas Bybe's sister Sarah married Peter Baze.
Note to Dick - Intrigued by your intermarriage comment - which intermarriage are you referring to?
