Throughout her life, people would call her a “Cartier” and she would always respond that she was a “Cartie” and not a “Cartier”.Even her tombstone has her name as a “Cartier”. She must be rolling in her coffin. The last name even gave me problems because in her family some siblings would call themselves “Carty” while others called themselves “Cartie” and all from ”Curti ancestors”.
Her ancestors were:
Jean Curti His son was: Jean Baptiste Curti His son was: Charles Laliberté Cartyfrom St Benoit 1762 His son was: Charles (Dit Laliberté) Carty (1790-1882) from St-Anicet, Huntingdon, QC His son was: Anicet (Dit Laliberté) Cartie (1856-unk) from St-Anicet, Huntingdon, QC His daughter was: Alicia Rose Alma Cartie,( Jul 11 1901- Oct 25, 1995) Buries in Salaberry de Valleyfield QC
One of her son was Lucien Sauve His daughter was Suzette Sauve Quesnel (my wife)
