No I have no further info on Isaac other than that he was either a carter (presumably this means carried things on a cart) or a carder (an occupation in the cotton industry). This was from the marriage certificate for Francis and Jane so was not quite clear which it is. There seem to have been quite a lot of Cartledges in the Manchester area around the mid 1800's. However I think all Cartledge's originated from the Derbyshire area as there is a hamlet called Cartledge in the Dronfield area. There are a lot of records for Manchester missing (I think because of a flood) so I have not found any record of them on the 1851 census.
