Hi Peter,
Thank you for the information, it certainly does seem to be the correct family although I too am puzzled by the Scottish connection.
You are correct about the place name, it is not too far from where I live and I have visited the place. It is a very small hamlet and about the only thing there is a property called Cartledge Hall.
Do you have an interest in the family?
