Francis M. Carwile was my great, great grandfather and I have been trying to do some research on him ... I have some information from the Callaham-Carwile book and other information from historical publications from Floyd County, Georgia. I would be interested in any information that you have pertaining to him, his brother and cousin D.L. Carwile.
In case you aren't aware there is an interesting piece on the Autauga Guard at a web site on Thomas L. Faulkner who was the commander of this Alabama Independent Company when it was formed in July 1861. The piece was published in August 1928 and copied from a musket scroll by Stanley B. Mills who was a member of the original unit. In the article he mentions the officers and NCOs of the unit and Francis M. Carwile was 2nd Sergeant of the unit. I believe I may have a PDF file of this article if you are interested.
