In an earlier message to this forum, I wrote, I have searched the Texas death index (1903 thru 1940). I have searched for CASHION/CASHAN/CASHEN/CASHIN/CASHON. "Nobody with any of those names died in 1924 in Texas."
What I should have written... Nobody with any of those names is listed in the 1924 Texas index. Another kind genealogist informed me that the Texas death index is not guaranteed to be complete and accurate.
I wish to clarify my posting:
I am searching for birth/marriage/death records for Archibald Cashion. In particular, the one that was buried in 1924 near Alvarado Texas. (b.1845 d.1924) Archibald first married Nancy Benson ca.1869 and had two children Riley D. Cashion (1871-1951) and John Henry Cashion (1874-1958). Then Archibald married a lady known only by "Caldona". Archibald and Caldona then had Andy, Lawrence, Rufe, Chester(d.5-5-37), Belle, Della, and my grandfather Frank Elmer Cashion (b.1895 d.1948). My grandfather was the youngest child.
My father remembers attending the 1924 funeral. In 1997, my cousin visited the cemetary near Alvarado and stood at the grave of our great-grandfather Archibald Cashion. Thanks you very much, Charles M. Cashion
