Sun, The: Bolingbrook (IL) - April 11, 2003 Deceased Name: Joseph D. Cassata Joseph Dominick Cassata, a longtime resident of Naperville, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Chicago.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He served as president of the Bolingbrook Amateur Radio Club and was retired from Goss Printing Co. and American Flange. He enjoyed running his business, Coax Connection. He was an avid reader of Stephen King, John Grisham and others. He traveled extensively to ham radio conventions in many states.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy; two daughters, Pamela (husband Robert) Parnass and Karen (husband Thomas) Walker; a son, Mike Cassata; a sister, Maryann Grosenbacher of Portland, Ore.; and two sisters-in-law, Vernita Inglum of Terre Haute, Ind., and Bernice (husband Ronald) Carpenter of Radford, Va.
Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Joliet, with military honors and color guard.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
